The 9th annual Sit with Santa Holiday Festival will take place on Saturday, December 7 from 1:45pm to 5:00pm at the Elkins Park train station.
Local realtor Jeff Chirico said Santa will arrive by train for the third year in a row.
“We’re going to have carolers from Cheltenham High School, a Christmas cheer band, facepainting, arts and crafts, and Santa will be posing for photos for three hours,” he said.
Organizers are also offering a holiday shop stroll to encourage people to visit the stores in Elkins Park.
“They have a chance to win a huge stocking of toys. We are also asking people to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to our holiday food drive,” Chirico said, noting that more than 500 people have attended over the past two years.
From the event’s description:
Ring in the holiday season with us at the 9th annual Sit with Santa Holiday Festival in the heart of Elkins Park! Join us for an afternoon packed with festive fun and community cheer. Santa Claus himself will make his grand arrival by train from the North Pole around 1:55 p.m. at the Elkins Park Train Station! He’ll then lead a magical walk through town to Creekside Market & Tap (7909 High School Road), where he’ll be ready for free photos from 2-5 p.m.
Enjoy a holiday scavenger hunt, face painting, arts and crafts, giveaways, and delicious eats and drinks from market vendors. Plus, keep an eye out for the Grinch himself, causing holiday mischief at “Elkins Whoville” at Elkins Nutrition! The Cheltenham High School singers will fill the air with carols throughout the day, creating a truly magical atmosphere.
To keep the spirit of giving alive, please bring a non-perishable food item to help our local food drive. Let’s celebrate the season, spread joy, and make lasting memories with our Elkins Park community.
