The Citizens Crime Commission is administering a $4,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the death of 17-year-old Tanicha Workman.

On Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at around 10:00pm, Workman and her brother were crossing Cheltenham Avenue near 5th Street when she was fatally struck by a van. The driver fled the scene.

The family of the victim is asking for help to solve the 12-year-old case.

“It’s never too late. I just feel that somebody out there somewhere knows something. And if anybody has children or a loved one, they would know how we feel and how we’re suffering right now,” Karen Garnett, Tanicha’s mother, told 6ABC News.

The hit-and-run vehicle has been described as a light-colored Chevy or GMC work van with no back windows and a ladder on top. The driver was said to be a middle-aged white or Hispanic male.

$2,500 of the $4,000 reward is from AAA Mid-Atlantic. To submit information, you can call 215-546-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
