30-year-old man succumbs to injuries following one-vehicle crash in Springfield Township

The Springfield Township Police Department issued a press release this evening detailing a fatal crash on the afternoon of Friday, January 3.

According to the release, officers arrived on scene at 2:45pm to find a 1987 Cadillac which had crashed into a tree in the area of Pennsylvania Avenue and Oreland Mill Road.

The driver, a 30-year-old male, was transported to Jefferson Abington Hospital where he later succumbed to injuries.

Police have not yet released the identity of the driver and are seeking witnesses. If you have any information regarding the incident, you are asked to call 215-836-1601.

Police also noted that assistance came on behalf of Cheltenham, Whitemarsh, and Upper Dublin police departments, the Fort Washington and Oreland fire departments, Cheltenham Township EMS, and the Community Ambulance Association of Ambler.
