The 13U Abington Raiders will play a regional matchup against the Germantown Bears at 9:00am on Sunday, November 17 at Marsh Creek’s turf field (241 Fellowship Road in Chester Springs).
The game’s winner will head to the Pop Warner Super Bowl in Disney World next month. The then-11U Raiders made the trip in 2022 and have seen appearances at Nationals three of the last four years.
“It’s been a great season. We took a loss early on to the Lower Perk Longhorns, and then played the same team later in the championship and ended up beating them. They’re a very good team,” assistant coach Ryan Hamilton, who has been with the boys since they were six years old, said.
“The Bears are a gritty team. It should be a good matchup. Hopefully we prevail,” he said. “Head coach Rashaad Mimms has done a wonderful job this year. He’s a local Abington guy in his first year with the boys.”
Hamilton noted that the 11U Raiders will play for the same prize at 11:00am on Sunday.
“That would be fantastic to represent our area in the big game,” Hamilton said.
