Owner of two parcels in Abington submits proposal to consolidate and construct two-story addition

KJR Group, which owns property at 1603 and 1617 Old York Road, has submitted a proposal to Abington Township to consolidate the properties into a 41,451 sf parcel.

1603 Old York Road is roughly 35,000 sf and currently houses DJS Associates, Inc., a forensic consulting and litigation support services firm.

1617 Old York Road is roughly 6,000 sf and houses LCM Direct, Inc., an orthopedic shoe store which is temporarily closed.

According to the proposal, KJR Group intends to construct a 2,460 sf two-story building addition with an enclosed connection to the existing building.

The new building will be used as offices and a garage. The plan also calls for a reduction of required off-street parking spaces from 85 to 40.

For more information about the project, you can read the proposal in the April 16 Zoning Hearing Board agenda, which begins on page 63.

According to Terry Castorina, Abington Township’s assistant manager, the Zoning Hearing Board will make a decision about the proposal at their next meeting on May 21.
