NAACP Cheltenham President appointed to newly established Montco Advisory Council to the PHRC

NAACP Cheltenham Area Branch President, Dr. William Taylor III, Ph.D., LMSW, CMIP, has been appointed to the newly established Montgomery County Advisory Council to the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC).

The Advisory Council is dedicated to advancing fair housing, equality, and diversity within Montgomery County, and will collaborate with state-level members to promote and facilitate their objectives in our region.

Dr. Taylor currently serves as Police Chaplain for the county and has also served as Police Clergy to address cultural diversity issues, through which he has received numerous community service awards.

His roles with NAACP Cheltenham include Chairperson of the Legal Redress Committee and the Religious Affairs Committee. The branch serves Cheltenham, Springfield, Jenkintown, Plymouth Meeting, and Whitemarsh municipalities.

Dr. Taylor has also provided counseling for dually diagnosed persons, addictions, crisis management, social services, youths, and families. He received a Ph.D. from Columbia Pacific University and has graduate degrees from Temple University and Lutheran Theological Seminary.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve. It is an honor and a tremendous responsibility for humility and employing the principles of servanthood as are important to me,” Dr. Taylor said. “I intend to move forward effectively with the mission and vision of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission for a ‘Beloved County’ for all.”
