Baby Gear Group opens new location in Jenkintown, now accepting customers

Baby Gear Group, a library-style baby/kids goods service, has a new location in Jenkintown.

The new branch is owned and operated by Adriane Thomas, a Jenkintown resident, parent and postpartum doula.

Thomas says the company allows parents to borrow gear and toys for the first year and beyond.

“Babies and toddlers often quickly cycle through expensive gear and toys and parents are often trying to find the best fit for their babies which can quickly clutter their homes,” Thomas said. “Baby Gear Group Jenkintown is a sustainable and cost-effective solution. Parents borrow items, for as long as they’re interested, and simply return them when they are finished.”

The company offers strollers, bassinets, carriers, travel items, toys and more. Memberships start at $49 per month, but customers can also do one-item borrowing without a membership. Items are delivered directly to customers’ homes.

Baby Gear Group Jenkintown is also offering meetups and clothing swaps. Thomas hosts a monthly meetup at the Jenkintown Library on the first Tuesday of the month from 10:30am – 11:30am.

Thomas is also hosting a free baby clothing swap on April 6 from 12:15pm – 2:15pm at the Jenkintown Library. Parents can bring their outgrown clothing (newborns to 5T) and swap for the next size. The event will also accept maternity gear, small toys and feeding items.

Currently the delivery area is approximately 15 miles from Jenkintown, which includes Glenside, Mt Airy, Chestnut Hill, Abington, Elkins Park, Ambler, Warminster, Hatboro and Southampton.

The company currently serves Philadelphia, Twin Cities, MN, and Boulder, CO.
