Eastern Center for Arts & Technology in Willow Grove announced that Cheltenham High School’s Arianna Davis (above left) and Abington Senior High School’s Siobhan Mooney (above right) are slated to receive distinguished awards for success in their respective programs.

Davis, a student of Eastern’s Design, Photography, and Illustration program, is the recipient of the Design, Photography, and Illustration Occupational Advisory Committee Professionalism Senior Award.

Mooney, a student of Eastern’s Allied Health program, is the recipient of the Ron Eberz Memorial Award and Straight A, the school said.

In related news, Cheltenham senior Cailyn Burdell-Williams, a student of Eastern’s dental program, has received a Senior Spotlight.

According to the announcement, Burdell-Williams serves as president of the Black Student Union, has played on the varsity tennis team since her freshman year, and volunteers as a manager for the football team. Out of school, she completed an externship at Christ’s Home Senior Services in Warminster and serves as a student poll worker in the Cheltenham community.

She plans to attend Southern University and A&M College, an HBCU in Baton Rouge, La., to study biology this fall.

“Studying at Eastern has helped me tremendously by aiding in developing my passion for the medical field,” she said. “I plan to attend dental school after graduating from college, and my time at Eastern has helped me confirm that is exactly where my passion lies.”

Burdell-Williams’ accolades include being elected to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders and taking second place in the SkillsUSA Pennsylvania State competition in the Health Occupations Career Portfolio category.

“My experience at Cheltenham was made memorable by the extracurricular activities I’ve been involved in. I learned so much from sponsors and coaches,” said Burdell-Williams. “I’ve made many forever friendships through the different programs I’ve been involved in.”
