The West Earl Township Police Department (Lancaster County) announced that Shawn Mapp, 49, of Wyncote was arrested on July 29 at approximately 2:00pm following a routine traffic stop on the southbound side of Route 222.
According to the police report, the traffic stop was initiated by an officer who said he observed a black Mercedes-Benz SUV with no inspection or emission stickers.
Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer claims he smelled marijuana and the driver, Mapp, “exhibited signs of impairment and admitted to smoking marijuana prior to the stop.”
He reportedly showed signs of impairment during field sobriety tests and police determined that he was operating his vehicle with a suspended license.
Mapp was transported to Lancaster General Hospital for a blood draw to confirm the presence of controlled substances, police said.

• Driving Under the Influence of a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance
• General Impairment by DUI
• Driving with a Suspended or Revoked License
• Operating a Vehicle Without a Valid Inspection
• Prohibited Expenditures for Emission Inspection
