Cheltenham Township’s Zoning Hearing Board will host a public hearing on Monday, March 10 at 7:30pm at Curtis Hall regarding an application on behalf of Midgard Properties III, LP, owner of Wyncote Commons at 827 Glenside Avenue in Wyncote.
According to the meeting’s agenda, Midgard is seeking zoning relief to allow for shipping containers to be used as non-residential accessory structures and an athletic/fitness use on the property.
The containers are to be “stored in the 100-year floodplain where none are permitted”, the agenda says.
The 4.2-acre site was up for sale in 2024. The 93,423 sf property currently houses 18+ tenants, including Jenkintown Dance Arts, the PITC Institute, Berzin Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Crossfit, Fencing Academy of Philadelphia, among other businesses.
The public hearing also includes an application on behalf of Greenleaf at Cheltenham for “the installation of a three sided 62” x 74” freestanding internally illuminated directional sign on the property” and an application on behalf of House of Magic Enterprises, LLC “for the installation of an approximately 40” x 65” video LED Marquee sign and six (6) full coverage window signs on the property”.
