“Won’t You Be My Neighbor”

As the funerals take place in western Pennsylvania, parents in Abington Township and Cheltenham Township may be asked questions by their children.

The City of Pittsburgh included a quote from a gentleman who has passed, but once was one of the neighbors in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood.  His words may help parents in eastern Montgomery County – and beyond – as you attempt to comfort your little ones.

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers.  You will always find people who are helping.'”

Mr. Fred Rogers

Mr. Rogers lived in this neighborhood which was the scene of the murders at the Tree of Life Synagogue.
