Kiaera M. Briggs, 33, has been sentenced to 11 to 22 months in prison for involuntary manslaughter in connection with the 2022 fatal shooting of Harvey Harris outside the Wendy’s restaurant on Huntington Pike.
Briggs must also complete 50 hours of community service and three years’ probation consecutive to parole.
She was originally charged with voluntary manslaughter, which is an unreasonable belief that the killing is justified or that she acted in self-defense. She initially plead not guilty to charges of manslaughter and possession of an instrument of crime.
According to officials, Harris threw a drink at Briggs, she threw a drink back at him, at which point Harris began to choke her from the window of her vehicle.
Authorities said Briggs had a permit to carry a weapon.
