Westminster Theological Seminary in Glenside announces new president

Dr. David B. Garner will assume the office of President of Westminster Theological Seminary in Glenside, effective July 1, 2026, and by unanimous resolution of the Board of Trustees.

Dr. Garner will replace Dr. Peter Lillback as the fifth president of Westminster. He is currently Chief Academic Officer, Vice President of Global Ministries, and Charles Krahe Professor of Systematic Theology. More about his career here.

Dr. Garner has many years of faithful service to Christ in both the church and the academy, and has demonstrated a profound commitment to the mission of Westminster.

With heartfelt appreciation for more than two decades of exemplary leadership, Dr. Peter A. Lillback will transition into a new strategic role as President Emeritus, where he will continue to support the Seminary’s academic and spiritual life through his ongoing service to the faculty and Westminster community.
