The Weavers Way Neighborhood Nutrition Team Launches Health and Wellness Series for 2018

Weavers Way Co-op is chock-full of nutritious food and inspiration for a healthy lifestyle. In concert with the Ambler store’s opening in October 2017, the Co-op has launched the Weavers Way Neighborhood Nutrition Team, a group of six wellness practitioners who are working to bring nutrition inspiration and information to Co-op shoppers. The team aims to provide information and resources that empower individuals to make desired changes in their nutritional program and overall health.

In 2018, the team will launch a series of educational workshops, demonstrations, and tastings, each addressing a different monthly theme. More details and descriptions of each month’s event can be found here.

January’s theme, and the first in the series of demonstrations and workshops, is the Food / Mood Connection, which will explore the ways your emotional state can be connected to the foods you eat. The workshop will be led by team member, Kristen Fulmer, a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Nutritional Therapist, and Certified GAPS (Gut and Psychology Syndrome) Practitioner at Healthy Body – Happy Brain Nutritional Therapy.  Kristen will talk about how nutritional changes can improve both your mental and physical health.  The workshop will take place in the cafe on January 25th from 7-8:30pm. Registration for this event is now open and available here.

Weavers Way is a member-owned cooperative grocery with locations in Northwest Philadelphia and Ambler. The Co-op offers a friendly shopping environment and reasonably priced, high-quality products that are local, sustainable, organic, fairly traded and healthful. The Co-op is open to everyone (not just members). All programs are free or low-cost and open to the public.  Visit the Weavers Way Online Events Calendar for more details and updates.
