Warmer, humid weather coming on Independence Day with a chance of thunderstorms

Forecasters are calling for warm and humid weather as of Thursday, July 4.

Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be sunny and pleasant before humidity and temperatures in high 80s and low 90s come in Thursday through Sunday.

The heat index for July 4 is expected to approach 95 degrees.

“The combination of the heat and humidity will lead to a risk of an afternoon thunderstorm in not only Philadelphia but much of the mid-Atlantic,” AccuWeather said.

Their forecast for the day in greater Glenside: “Humid with periods of clouds and sunshine; a heavy thunderstorm around in the afternoon”.

The National Weather Service said that the chance of precipitation on Independence Day is 40%. Their seven-day forecast is below:
