W. Moreland Ave. bridge in Upper Moreland/Hatboro being replaced between now and Dec. 2027, demolition & detours to come

Upper Moreland Township officials announced today that the replacement of Montgomery County Bridge 38 has begun.

The bridge is located on W. Moreland Avenue between Flamingo Road (Upper Moreland) and Broad Street (Hatboro), adjacent to the Hatboro Memorial Swimming Pool.

According to the township, W. Moreland Avenue will remain open through the initial phase of the project, which consists of site clearing and utility relocations.

Bridge demolition is expected to begin approximately January 2026, at which point a PennDOT-approved full detour will be implemented. The bridge will be closed to all vehicles and pedestrians at that time and remain in place through the completion of the project, which is expected in December 2027.
