The Upper Moreland Senior Little League took down Rhode Island 10-4 on Sunday, July 21 in the Senior East Region Tournament in Bangor, Maine.

The team advances to today’s semifinal at 1:00pm against Maryland, who previously gave Upper Moreland their only loss of the tournament.

They won the Pennsylvania state championship on July 13.

Fort Washington

The Fort Washington Generals are now 1-2 in Pennsylvania American Legion Baseball’s Region 3 Tournament.

The Generals, who are coached by Cheltenham alum Gary Bonitatibus (1975), lost to Broomall-Newtown 4-2 on Friday before topping Valley Forge 7-6 on Saturday and falling to Mt. Airy 5-4 on Sunday.

The team was crowned champion of the Greater Norristown American Legion Baseball League (GNALBL) on July 14.
