The Upper Moreland Township Police Department announced today that they have seen an uptick in thefts from vehicles in multiple neighborhoods.
Police said the thefts are concentrated in one neighborhood “in a short amount of time during overnight hours, and in large numbers” and that they target unlocked vehicles.
If you recognize the male in the video below, please contact the department at (215) 657-4700 or submit a tip anonymously at uppermorelandpd.org.
The department offered the following tips to avoid being a victim:
1. Lock your car doors every night.
2. Remove valuables from your vehicles all the time. Thieves look for what they can easily grab. They also know to look through center consoles and glove compartments for money, credit cards, phones and other valuables.
3. Park your vehicle in the garage if possible. If not, park under a street light or consider installing motion sensor lighting for the area over your vehicles.
4. If you see something or someone suspicious during the overnight hours, CALL 911!
