The Upper Moreland School District recently received a Green Fleet Award for their procurement of the first district-owned fleet of propane school buses in Pennsylvania.
Upper Moreland’s award came under the Rural District Under 50 Buses category and was recognized on July 16 during the Green Bus Summit at STN EXPO in Reno, Nevada.
“This award is very important to me,” the district’s transportation director Kelly Rhodunda said. “It highlights the importance of having a green fleet. Being recognized by others in this industry shows that this is a sustainable option for school districts. This is something that will be better for communities [and] better for our children.”
The district won the Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence award in 2018.
