Upper Moreland Police Department celebrates retirement of two longtime officers

The Upper Moreland Police Department celebrated the careers of two recently retired members in front of the Upper Moreland Board of Commissioners on Monday, April 6.

Officer Jason Dickerson served the Upper Moreland community for 28 years as a patrol officer and holding several specialized roles, including Field Training Officer, Range Officer, Defensive Tactics Instructor, and SWAT Operator/Sniper, the department said in a post.

Officer Dickerson received numerous commendations for his work and officially retired on January 23.

Sergeant Pete Ruddell served the Upper Moreland community for 29 years, serving as Sergeant since 2010. During his tenure, he supervised patrol operations and served in roles such as Honor Guard member, Field Training Officer, and MCSAP Inspector, the department said in a post.

Sergeant Ruddell earned numerous commendations during his career and officially retired on January 3.
