Upper Moreland High School Marching Unit captures 3rd straight state title, Abington’s unit sweeps caption awards

The Upper Moreland High School Marching Unit captured their third consecutive USBands Pennsylvania State Championship on Saturday, November 1.

The unit took first place in the Group IV Open division with a score of 93.9, and swept the caption awards for Best Music, Best Visual, Best Overall Effect, & Best Color Guard.

The unit heads to MetLife Stadium this weekend to compete at the USBands National Open Class Championships.

In 2024, the unit performed “A World Where We Belong!” and earned a final score of 94.2. Additional awards included Best Music, Best Visual, Best Overall Effect, and Best Color Guard. The unit also took first place at the Cavalcade of Bands State Championships in 2023.

The Abington Senior High School School Marching Band scored 88.80 and was named Best Music, Best Visual, Best Color Guard, Best Percussion and Best Overall Effect.
