In mid-February, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection will have its PFAS Action Team provide updates on an upcoming sampling plan and seek comments from the general public regarding water contamination in the area.

“The next public meeting of the [PFAS] Action Team will take place on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, from 6:15 PM to 9:00 PM at the Upper Dublin High School,” the statement continued.

The Upper Dublin High School is located at 800 Loch Alsh Avenue in Fort Washington.

“At this meeting we will hear updates from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection on a sampling plan to identify potentially contaminated drinking water sources and from the Department of Health on the pilot study for blood levels,” stated Mr. Patrick McDonnell, Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

The statement from the Commonwealth indicated that “representatives from local governments and utilities will also present on the challenges of managing PFAS chemicals, as well as working with the Commonwealth and the Federal governments to address cleanup.”

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, “members of the public [will be able] to provide comments in person.  Commenters are asked to present no more than three minutes of remarks.  Residents unable to attend or who would like to submit remarks in writing can use…the eComment system [of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection].”
