Abington School District recently provided an update on the construction at Abington Senior High School:

As we approach the opening of the expanded administrative areas at Abington Senior High School, construction on a different area of the building began shortly before the holiday season: the construction of the expanded athletic wing. In addition to crews building onto the current gymnasium, new spaces will also be constructed below the existing gym and pool areas in order to include an auxiliary gymnasium and a brand new weight room. This means that like Abington Junior High School, which has smaller gymnasia in addition to the main gym, Abington Senior High School will have added options that are designed to hold other indoor sporting events like volleyball. This will allow for multiple events to be scheduled at the same time, which will benefit our athletic teams and the broader community who use our facilities. As construction on this area continues through the spring and summer, expect the road between the gymnasia and stadium to remain closed for scaffolding and other equipment.

Moving over to the other side of the building, new windows have been installed in the administrative wing, adjacent to the auditorium lobby, and brick that matches the original Senior High building has been added to the facade.
