The Union Library of Hatboro will be hosting a Civil War Encampment on the library lawn between 10:00am and 1:00pm on Saturday, August 29.

The demonstration invites the public to learn about the life of the common solider, civilian life, and branches of the military.

“Immerse yourself in Civil War drill demonstrations, camp life, medical practices of the Civil War and so much more!” organizers said.

As part of the event, members of The Sons of Union War Veterans of the Civil War will be doing a black powder musket demonstration which includes musket firing. The Hatboro Police Department announced said no live ammunition will be fired, though loud shots will be heard.
