Two PECO infrastructure projects in Upper Moreland scheduled to begin in November

Upper Moreland Township announced two upcoming PECO infrastructure projects.

One project, a $318,000 investment, is intended “to help withstand more frequent and damaging storms, improve reliability by reducing the frequency of outages that cannot be prevented, and support the adoption of cleaner energy resources such as solar and electric vehicles,” the township said.

Officials said a machine will install new conduit as well as new underground electrical cable throughout the township, and any impacted portions of yards or streets will be restored. Work will occur along Commerce Avenue, Maryland Road, and within Jamestown Village Apartment Complex.

Construction is scheduled to begin mid-November with an estimated completion in late December.

A second project, a $207,000 investment with the same intent, will take place along North York Road and within the Green Willow Run Condominium Community. Construction is scheduled to begin mid-November with an estimated completion in late December.

Both projects will be performed by PECO crews and qualified PECO contractors, officials said.
