Tov HaOlam Montessori School taking over former Wyncote Academy

Tov HaOlam Montessori School is taking over the relocated Wyncote Academy property at 1110 Church Road in the Elkins Park section of Cheltenham Township.

Minna Ziv, the school’s founder and lead teacher, expects to open in the fall of 2024, with prospective tours as early as the end of January.

“I’ve been working on this for more than two years. It’s a Jewish Montessori school, but it’s for everyone. I’ve been developing the curriculum and I believe the Montessori model is great for kids. It’s an incredible environment,” Ziv, an Israeli native, said.

Ziv is certified by the American Montessori Society (AMS) and has been working within the Montessori model for the last four years.

“3-6-year-olds are curious and eager to learn,” she said. “I’ve had four-year-olds who are already reading and doing multiplication. There’s freedom of movement. It’s a very calm, organized style of learning.”

The school is currently looking to hire an administrator slash floating teacher, an assistant teacher and a lead teacher for the toddler room.

Applicants need to have AMS certification.
