The Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership (TTF) is sharing a new community survey launched with support from the Water Center at Penn and Cerulean.

“We’re asking residents in Northeast Philly and Eastern Montgomery County to share their thoughts on clean water, flooding, and community needs,” Wendi Wu, TTF’s Communications Manager told Glenside Local.

Responses will help shape the organization’s upcoming Watershed Action Plan, described as a “strategic, collaborative initiative to improve water quality, reduce stormwater pollution, and restore natural habitats across the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Creek watershed.”

The Project is funded by National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF). With a focus on both ecological health and community engagement, this project aims to support local municipalities in implementing nature-based stormwater solutions and promoting public understanding of stormwater fees and clean water benefits. By aligning local government efforts, conducting technical assessments, and expanding outreach in this highly urbanized region, TTF will foster stronger partnerships and drive forward restoration strategies that protect drinking water, fish and wildlife habitats, and community resilience.

The survey closes on September 30 and is open to residents with the following Montgomery County zip codes: 19001 (Abington Township), 19012 (Cheltenham Township), 19027 (Elkins Park), 19038 (Glenside), 19046 (Jenkintown), and 19095 (Wyncote). Survey participants can enter to win a $100 Wawa gift card.

The Tacony (also spelled Tookany) Creek flows through Glenside, Abington and Cheltenham townships, Jenkintown, Elkins Park and beyond.
