On Thursday afternoon the Cheltenham Township Police Department(CTPD) issued an update on the alleged sexual assault against a woman in Lynnwood Gardens. New information from interviews revealed the complainant was not lured to the apartment complex through the Tinder app.
The police investigation found that the complainant was with a male acquaintance on October 1, so there was no stranger assault as reported in initial reports. This story generated community fear and concern, and CTPD stated there is no a public safety.
The male involved in the alleged incident has been identified and is cooperating with detectives.
