The Hatboro Police Department announced this morning that an investigation has been launched regarding a fatal three-vehicle crash which took place on Friday, August 23 at 6:35pm.
Officers responded yesterday to the area of County Line Road and Park Avenue for a report of a vehicle crash with entrapment.
Arriving officers found the crash involved a Chevy Camaro, operated by a 31-year-old male, which had flipped on its roof. The driver was pronounced deceased at the crash scene.
Police said the vehicle was traveling west on County Line Road and crossed into the eastbound travel lanes where it struck a Nissan SUV operated by a 69-year-old female traveling east. The driver of the Nissan was pronounced deceased at the crash scene.
A Hyundai being driven by a 69-year-old female was traveling eastbound behind the Nissan and was also involved in the crash.
Two passengers in the Camaro were extricated and transported to Jefferson Abington Hospital, police said. A 31-year-old female passenger was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The second passenger, a 23-year-old female, suffered severe injuries and is listed in critical condition. The driver of the Hyundai was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.
The names of the involved parties are not being released currently pending notification of next of kin. The incident is being investigated by the Hatboro Police Department in conjunction with the Eastern Montgomery County Crash Team.
