A very violent storm just rolled through the area just after 12:00 p.m. yesterday and knocked out the power to thousands.

GlensideLocal.com published an article on the outages at 1:00 p.m. and the number of outages has actually grown since that first report in three of the four municipalities we cover.

Below are the numbers we reported at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday and the numbers as of 7:21 a.m. this morning.

• Abington – 5,686/4,893
• Cheltenham – 2,587/3,065
• Jenkintown – 867/1,203
• Springfield – 2,703/2,757

The vast majority of the current outages do not give an expected restoration time. When PECO does offer a projection it is tomorrow or later.
