Upwards of 1,000 people of all faiths filled the Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel in Elkins Park on Sunday evening.
The occasion was A Service of Solidarity and Healing in support of the Pittsburgh Jewish Community.
Among those who spoke at the service were Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, Pastor Linnéa Clark of Saint John’s Lutheran Church Melrose Park, and other area religious and civic leaders.
Ms. Joan Shrager, a member of Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel, explained that Ms. Amy Levy, Cantor at the synagogue, put together the arrangements for this service.
The video below shows people at Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel singing the end of the song, Adon Olam, that the murderer interrupted during Saturday services at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.
Finishing the song the shooter interrupted-Adon Olam was not sung to the end because of the murderer.
