The latest on the Coronavirus in Montgomery County

The Montgomery County COVID-19 dashboard shows that there were 52 new cases of Coronavirus on September 26th, 40 on September 27th, and 31 on September 28th. That brings the total number of cases countywide since the start of the pandemic to 11,959.

One death was reported over these three days (September 28). This brings the total number of deaths countywide since the start of the pandemic to 832. There have been five deaths in September thus far. There were seven deaths during August, 21 in July, and 106 in June.

The 14-day PCR Positivity rate as of September 18th is 2.79%. Having this number under 5% is considered to have the virus under control. This has not been updated since our last report on September 25th.

According to state data, the number of hospitalizations due to Coronavirus in the county as of 12:45 p.m. on September 28th is 26 (down from 32 on September 25). Seven patients require a ventilator.

  • Abington is at 840 cases, which is nine more than since September 25th. There have been 70 deaths
  • Cheltenham is 708 cases, which is four more than since September 25th There have been 54 deaths
  • Jenkintown is at 38 cases, which is no change since September 25th. There have been no deaths
  • Springfield is at 663 cases, which is two more than since September 25th. There have been 90 deaths
  • Rockledge is at 22 cases, which is no change since September 25th. There has been one death
