Glenside has a new “Trinket Trade”—an open-source box stocked with keychains, fidgets, erasers, pencils, erasers, Happy Meal toys, painted rocks, clay painted figures, knickknacks, and more.
The outdoor installation has been located at 167 N Keswick Avenue since Sunday, May 3. Creator Amy Suc told Glenside Local that her inspiration came from TikTok and her own children’s accumulated goodies over the years.
“I saw one on TikTok and thought it looked really cool and fun. I have a lot of stuff laying around now that my kids are older, so I thought it would be a good way to re-gift some of those things,” she said. “I have a big box of things to replenish it. It’s really cute to see what little kids bring. They usually raid it on their way home from school.”

Suc said she made the box from a waterproof junction box, an old fence post, and a shelf crafted from scrap wood.
“I used a cookie sheet as a magnet. I put Post-it notes and pencils inside and wrote ‘Leave a note’. I get so many notes each day from kids saying how much they like it. It’s fun to read those,” she said.
The box’s exterior reads, “Leave a trinket, take a trinket.” Suc said the neighborhood kids are good about sticking to the honor code.
“I’m shocked at how much attention it’s getting. Our Instagram page got 3,500 views over the last nine days. A resident of Roslyn said she’s starting her own box after seeing ours,” Suc said.
