The Cheesecake Lady, formerly of 910 Township Line Road in Elkins Park (Cheltenham Township), has officially reopened at 725 West Avenue in Jenkintown, though the popular shop is now under new ownership.
The Cheesecake Lady’s founder, Vanessa Jackson, told Glenside Local that she is retiring after 26 years in business and has handed over her legacy to Galen Thomas of Philadelphia’s Cloud Cups Gelato, who took over effective November 1. Jackson said she and her daughter Brittany have been training Thomas’ staff to ensure a seamless transition.
The Cheesecake Lady’s Fishtown store (2311 Frankford Avenue) and food truck are also under Thomas’ care, Jackson said, noting that Thomas expects to “open several retail stores” in effort to take the brand national.

In a retirement letter, Jackson gave special thanks to her children, siblings. and the salon and barber owners who have opened their doors to her over the years. She also thanked Tori Grice and Barry, who helped her open her first store, as well as her “raving fans who will remain in her heart and mind forever”.
This will be the shop’s second stint as a Jenkintown business. Prior to moving to Elkins Park, it occupied 723 West Avenue (now the home of Grandma Jannah’s Ice Cream Parlor), relocating in 2018.
The shop’s hours this week:
- Tuesday: 11AM to 6PM
- Wednesday: 10AM to 6PM
- Thursday: 7AM to 11AM
A December grand opening date is coming soon.
