Temple officer Chris Fitzgerald, killed in the line of duty, laid to rest in Huntingdon Valley

Temple University police officer Christopher Fitzgerald, who was shot and killed near Temple’s campus last week while trying to stop a robbery, has been laid to rest in Huntingdon Valley.

Hundreds gathered Thursday evening for Fitzgerald’s viewing. Gov. Josh Shapiro began a eulogy and offered condolences to Fitzgerald’s family on behalf of the state.

Friday’s funeral procession began at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Center City and ended at Forest Hills Cemetery in Huntingdon Valley.
