Teen serial burglar may be behind robberies at Goat House Creamery and Melrose Service Center in Elkins Park

Cheltenham Township officials told NBC10 that Marcus Neto, 18, may have been behind the burglaries at Goat House Creamery and Melrose Service Center in Elkins Park in March.

According to NBC10, Neto may also be behind a string of robberies in Philadelphia, including a robbery in a North Philadelphia that occurred in front of the owner’s kids. When Cheltenham officials saw a surveillance video from a restaurant robbery earlier this week, they noticed the man was wearing what looks like the same clothing as the suspect in the Elkins Park robberies.

Roughly $200 were stolen from the businesses, each of which had to be boarded up. Police said they found evidence in High School Park. According to surveillance footage, the suspect had a black and blue jacket, a covered face, ripped black jeans “and something red on his left hand.”

“Now, he’s escalating it, where he’s a big criminal now,” John Reed, the owner of Melrose Service Center, said.

Police say Neto has one previous arrest in Philadelphia and is deaf. He can only speak Portuguese sign language.

If you have any information about him, you are asked to contact the Northeast Detective Division at 215-686-3153/3154.
