Teacher from Overlook Elementary School recognized as one of Phillies All-Star Teachers

The Philadelphia Phillies recognized the team’s top 10 Phillies All-Star Teachers from 2020 and 2021 during its game on May 3rd. The 2020 teachers joined the teachers from 2021 due to fans not being allowed at the 2020 games. The event was part of the Phillies’ 21st annual Teacher Appreciation Night. The teachers were selected from hundreds of nominations sent to the Phillies by their current and former students, parents, and peers.

One of the teachers recognized was Karima Boyd, an elementary curriculum specialist at Overlook Elementary School. She was nominated by a former student, Daulton Larr, who is now a seventh-grader at Abington Junior High School. Boyd was Daulton’s fourth-grade teacher when he was at Copper Beech Elementary School.
