Superintendent Dr. Jill Takacs no longer employed by Jenkintown School District, board president says

Jenkintown School District’s board president Carolyn Riley responded on Wednesday to Glenside Local’s questions surrounding the employment status of superintendent Dr. Jill Takacs.

According to Riley’s email, Dr. Takacs told the district on April 4 that she was changing her separation date to April 5. She initially planned to step down on August 31.

“The board approved that change, and updated Mr. Van Mater’s status to Acting Superintendent through July 12th. In sum, as of April 5th, Dr. Takacs is no longer employed by the District,” Riley wrote.

Glenside Local reported on Tuesday that Dr. Brea D’Angelo, currently the Director of Educational Affairs in the Hatboro-Horsham School District, has been appointed to the role of superintendent, effective July 13.

Within that article, we noted that Dr. Takacs had been hired as the South Brunswick School District’s (Middlesex County, NJ) Interim Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. We first requested the details of her employment from school board leadership on March 26.
