Snow Emergencies Announced

All the towns in our coverage area have issued snow emergencies.

Jenkintown:

Jenkintown Borough has declared a snow emergency beginning at 4pm Sunday and expires 4pm Monday.

If you have a driveway please park in it. If not, please park as close to the curb as possible so plow trucks can clear your road without obstructions.

Sidewalks must be clear of snow and ice 24 hrs after the storm has ended.

Of course, if you have an emergency call 911. Thank you.

Cheltenham:

Cheltenham Township declares a Snow Emergency effective at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2019 until 12 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019. Cheltenham Township Administration Building, Rowland and La Mott Community Centers will open late at 10 am on Monday, March 4th.

During this time parking on designated Snow Emergency Routes is prohibited to allow our plow operators to clear the streets in a safe and efficient manner. Cars parked on Snow Emergency Routes after 7 a.m. may be towed and impounded at the owner’s expense. Residents are also reminded to please clear your sidewalks of ice and snow within 24 hours of the end of the storm. If you have a fire hydrant on or near your property, please clear that as well.  See list of Snow Emergency Routes in Cheltenham Township.

Rockledge:

The Borough of Rockledge has declared a snow emergency beginning at 3 pm on Sunday, March 3, 2019 and will remain in effect until 3 pm on Monday, March 4, 2019. 

Residents are asked to remove their vehicles from the roadways to allow for uninterrupted snow removal and treatment. 

Snow Emergency Routes

Parked or unattended vehicles are prohibited on Snow Emergency Routes. 

Vehicles on Snow Emergency Routes must have snow tires or chains. Vehicles left parked or abandoned will be towed and impounded at the owner’s expense.

Snow Removal

Regulations Borough Ordinances require owners or occupants to have snow and ice removed from sidewalks within 24 hours after the snow has stopped. It is unlawful to push or place snow removed from private property onto public streets.

Abington

Abington Township has declared a Snow Emergency effective at 4 p.m. todayMarch 3, 2019 until 4 p.m. tomorrowMarch 4, 2019. During this time parking on designated Snow Emergency Routes is prohibited to allow our plow operators to clear the streets in a safe and efficient manner. Cars parked on Snow Emergency Routes after 4 p.m. may be towed and impounded at the owner’s expense.
