Abington Township announced today that the smoke and chemical odor coming from the SPS Technologies building at 301 Highland Avenue in Jenkintown on the evening of Monday, March 24 were determined to be without issue.

Officials said the smoke “was attributed to dense fog in the area and the chemical odor was attributed to the residual post-fire smell from the building. There was no indication of any chemical hazards present.”

Fire personnel arrived on site, most of whom were quickly recalled. An investigation revealed no issues on the property.
