What’s a heat wave without a severe thunderstorm warning? How about a little hail for good measure?
The dedicated civil servants at the National Weather Service in Mt. Holly, New Jersey have issued a severe thunderstorm warning for our area. Details are these:

At 520 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Steuben to 6 miles west of Bechtelsville, moving east at 30 mph.
HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE…Law enforcement. Several reports of trees and wires down have been received from Lehigh County in association with these storms.
IMPACT…Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature`s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
