PennDOT announced today that SEPTA will be performing rail improvements on Bradfield Road in Abington Township beginning Friday, June 9.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- From 9:00 AM Friday, June 9, to 6:00 PM Monday, June 12, Bradfield Road will be closed between Edge Hill Road and Susquehanna Road. During the closure, northbound motorists will be directed to use Edge Hill Road, Easton Road, and Susquehanna Road. Southbound motorists will be directed to Susquehanna Road, Easton Road, and Edge Hill Road.
Local access will be maintained up to the work zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur.
In related news, SEPTA recently announced a ski mask ban. The announcement comes after the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old Philadelphia high school student on a SEPTA bus in Germantown in late May.
“Those face masks are prohibited on SEPTA property,” SEPTA Transit Police Chief Charles Lawson said in a press conference. “If you come on SEPTA property wearing your shiesty, you will be engaged by police. So I want you to think about it.”
