Sen. Collett announces 7 substantial grants for local schools and municipalities including Memorial Park in Hatboro and Willow Grove YMCA

Senator Maria Collett of Fort Washington has announced $11,837,112 in state grant funding for more than two dozen infrastructure-related projects in the 12th Senatorial District.

“Investments in local infrastructure are critical to making our communities safer and more attractive places to live, work and play,” Senator Collett said. “I was proud to support this robust funding to restore aging roads and bridges, expand recreational opportunities, upgrade outdated school facilities, and make other urgent improvements while boosting our local economies.”

$7,537,112 of those funds were dedicated to local recipients. Those in greater Glenside include:

  • Hatboro Borough – $818,377 for improvements to Memorial Park
  • Lower Moreland Township – $140,000 for the preliminary design of the Bethayres Streetscape
  • Montgomery County (Upper Moreland Township & Bryn Athyn Borough) – $500,000 for a portion of the construction of the Cross County Trail East

The Public School Facility Improvement Grant Program – also administered by the PA DCED – provides grants to public school districts and area career and technical schools for eligible facility improvement projects. Both awards are distributed on an annual basis.
