Segment of Washington Ln in Jenkintown to close from July 8 – Aug 2

Jenkintown Borough officials announced today that Washington Lane between Township Line Road and York Road will be closed to through traffic from Monday, July 8 until Friday, August 2.

Residents and businesses located on this segment of Washington Lane will still have access to their properties during the closure but may experience some delays, the borough said.
The closure will allow a contractor to excavate and safely install underground utilities, with the actual excavation to take place between Cedar Street and Walnut Street. The utilities being improved/installed will assist the borough with stormwater runoff.

“The decision to close the road for the entire period the work will be taking place was made with safety to the General Public and Contractor’s workers in mind as well as to shorten the length of the project significantly,” the borough said in a statement.

Questions regarding the road closure or detour can contact Borough Hall at (215) 885-0700.
