PennDOT announced today that trail construction will continue on Greenwood Avenue in Abington Township under a local safety improvement project. 

Work will begin at 7:00pm on Friday, July 19 and continue until 5:00am on Monday, July 22. The segment was previously closed from June 21 through June 24 for stormwater improvements.

Greenwood Avenue will be closed and detoured between Washington Lane and Meetinghouse Road. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Meetinghouse Road, Route 73 (Township Line Road), and Route 611 (Old York Road).  

Local access will be maintained up to the work zone, PennDOT said. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
