Cheltenham Township officials announced that a 24-hour closure is scheduled on Church Road between Greenwood Avenue and Washington Lane from Saturday, February 28 to Sunday, March 1.

During the closure, drivers will be directed to use Greenwood Avenue, Township Line Road, and Washington Lane. Access to residences and businesses will be maintained at all times, officials said.

PennDOT contractors are currently working on the Church Road intersection improvement project with the long-term traffic pattern in place through completion. 

In related news, a PECO contractor is replacing existing natural gas equipment as part of ongoing upgrades in the area. Work the week of February 23 is expected in the following areas:

• Night work on Church Road, temporary lane closures from High School Road to Mill Road from 7pm to 5am.
• Washington Lane, with lane shift from Ashbourne Road to Church Road from 7am to 3pm.

Work will be done Monday through Friday, with expected completion in March 2026, officials said.
