Roslyn Pet Fair: Raises Funds & Draws Community

Today was the annual Roslyn Pet Fair, which featured 13 animal rescue organizations, 13 vendors, a canned cat food drive, canned fruit drive, games, food provided by R&R Caribbean Cuisine music provided by FNG Production Sounds, who donated their services.

“The Roslyn Pet Fair is to provide rescue shelters with a fundraising platform to help them fund the good work they do for animals,” said Roe Pettinato, the Coordinator of the Rolsyn Pet Fair.

One of the highlights of the day was the K-9 demonstration from Sgt. Jennifer Doyle and K9 Bella. Sgt.Doyle and Bella trained for 19 weeks for their  Patrol Certification  The certification is criteria include obedience, agility, building searches, article searches; Bella’s favorite, and tracking. Bella  spent 14 weeks learning how to sniff out bombs. Together Sgt.  Doyle and Bella protect the community of Abington Township as 29-K4.

The Roslyn Pet Fair is Commissioner Lori Schreiber’s creation. The fair started 13 years ago ina parking lot, but is now held on the lawn of the Church of the Living Word on Easton Road. ” The Pet Fair was born from a summer series of events to promote development and revitalization in Roslyn,” said Commissioner Schreiber-Ward 14.  “The Pet Fair was by far the most popular event that summer, and has become the heart and soul event for the summer. Schreiber continued”
