Rockledge Borough’s Chief of Police steps down after 38 years of service | Cheltenham, Abington police looking to hire new officers

The Rockledge Borough Police Department announced today that Chief Oscar Horajeckyj is officially retiring from the department after 38 years of service.

Chief Horajeckyj swore in as Chief of Police in October 2024. Prior to joining the department full-time, he served the community as an EMT, the department said.

“A career spanning 38 years represents countless hours of work, responsibility, and sacrifice, much of it carried out quietly and without recognition,” the department said in a post. “We thank Chief Horaeckyj for his years of service to the Borough of Rockledge and wish him a well-earned retirement filled with good health, time with family, and whatever comes next.”
