Road Alert: PECO Work will Bring Lane Restrictions

Cone season is in full bloom. Starting March 19, PECO will start work bringing utility improvements along Fitzwatertown Road in the Abington and Upper Dublin area. Travel between Susquehanna and Thunderhead Road may become impeded by flag stops.

Work will progress through June of this year.

PennDOT advises you to allow for extra time if you must pass through this area and to slow down when passing by work areas.

From the PennDOT announcement:

PECO is planning weekday lane restrictions with flagging on Fitzwatertown Road between Susquehanna Road and Thunderhead Road in Abington and Upper Dublin townships, Montgomery County, beginning Tuesday, March 19, for utility improvement, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Weather permitting, the restrictions will be in place weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM through late June. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups may occur.

PECO will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
