Rep. Madeleine Dean of Glenside wins reelection to U.S. House in Pennsylvania’s 4th Congressional District

Congresswoman Madeleine Dean of Glenside has won a fourth term for the U.S. House in Pennsylvania’s 4th Congressional District, the Associated Press reported today.

The Associated Press called the race for Dean just before midnight.

Dean, 65, received 263,311 votes (59%) to her Elkins Park-based Republican challenger David Winkler’s 183,113 votes (41%).

Her district includes most of Berks County northeast of Reading and the majority of Montgomery County.

Winkler ran under the campaign slogan: “A Campaign to Restore the Fire of American Ingenuity.”

A statement on Winkler’s campaign website said: “The incumbent, Rep. Madeleine Dean, is depending on retaining Democrat voters but her far left progressive voting record has not been responsive to growing bi-partisan concerns of government spending, soaring crime, and the growing drug crisis.”
